2010 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION REGISTRATION EXTENSION:

Dear members of the Rwanda Diaspora community, as you may be aware, the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Washington D.C has not been able to register all Rwandans intending to participate in the August 2010 Presidential election.   The registration exercise has been extended to June 30th 2010 to give chance to those who haven’t yet registered to do so before the set deadline.

The Embassy of Rwanda in Washington DC supposes that the fifteen days exercise will be successful since we presently have few people who are not registered.

To facilitate those who cannot find time to come to the Embassy to register, due to other tight assignment schedules we request you to send the needed information such as: First and Last name, DOB and I.D/Passport Number and your full contact address, e-mail and phone number.

Mr. Rurangwa Vianney one of the Embassy staff will be a contact person, feel free to send the needed information on his e-mail: rvianney@rwandaembassy.org

The Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda takes this opportunity to remind members of the Rwandan Diaspora that only those registered will have the opportunity to participate in the Presidential Elections on August 9th 2010.   The Embassy further wishes to inform you that, the established convenient polling stations in USA will be communicated to you later. For more information call on (202) 232-2882.

NB: Those who intend to go to Rwanda or who will be there during Presidential Election are hereby advised to inform Rwanda Washington Embassy or National Electoral Commission in Rwanda as soon as possible, before their voting cards are transferred back to Washington DC.
