The Rwandan Young Professionals Conference

The Rwandan Young Professionals Conference is organized by The United States Rwandan Community Abroad (USRCA) in association with the Indianapolis Rwandan Diaspora Network (IRDN – Umubano). The main goal of the event is to mobilize the Rwandan Young Professional Diaspora to actively support and be part of Rwanda’s development agenda for 2050. It will be held under the theme: “The role of Rwandan Young Professionals in Nation Building.” Discussions will focus on some key drivers for prosperity of our country including investment and economic development, education, health, and ICT among others.

The conference seeks to highlight  the work of various young professionals and provide a platform for them to share ideas and experiences in various industries. Speakers and guests will have the opportunity to propose ideas that will augment the efforts stipulated in the 2050 development agenda. Key stakeholders and decision makers will be present at the event including:

  • The Right Honorable Édouard Ngirente, Prime Minister of the Republic of Rwanda
  • Her Excellency Ambassador Mathilde Mukantabana, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the United States of America
  • Honorable Olivier Nduhungirehe, Minister of State in charge of the East African Community
  • Dr. Charles Murigande, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement at the University of Rwanda

With professionals spanning various fields, the conference will be an opportune occasion to build networks and foster sharing of goals and ideas. In addition, representatives from Rwanda will share information on the job market and opportunities in different sectors in Rwanda.

The main event will be held on May 25th, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EDT, with a catered lunch, all hosted at the University of Indianapolis, 1400 East Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227. The day will conclude with a reception for all guests and dignitaries at the NCAA Conference Center starting at 7pm.
