On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, Ambassador Mathilde Mukantabana welcomed Dr. Todd Diacon, President of Kent State University, and Mr. Nick Gattozzi, Executive Director, of the Office of Government and Community Relations, for a courtesy visit.
They discussed expanding areas of mutual interest and partnerships between Rwanda and Kent State University

Following an agreement signed between Kent State University and the University of Rwanda (UR), the USA-based higher learning institution officially inaugurated a center in Rwanda on January 25, 2023, and seeks to partner with UR to start different programs, including aeronautical engineering.
