Commercial Attaché meets Operation Smile senior leaders

The commercial attaché at the Embassy of Rwanda in Washington D.C., Ms. Setti Solomon engaged in a meeting with top executives from Operation Smile to delve into their operations in Rwanda.

The meeting held at the Embassy of Rwanda in Washington D.C. last week discussed Operation Smile’s commitment to investing $7.2 million over five years to support surgical procedures and training for Rwanda’s medical workforce.

This year, Operation Smile’s surgical volunteer program made a significant impact in Rwanda by performing 30 life-changing cleft lip surgeries in Rwanda.

For over a decade, Operation Smile has been offering free medical care to over 2,000 individuals with cleft conditions and other surgical requirements in Rwanda.

Their current investments and collaborations with the Ministry of Health and the University of Rwanda are ensuring that the local population has access to safe, efficient, and affordable surgeries by enhancing the skills of the local medical workforce.
